Interventions to promote well-being and combat loneliness among international students at the University of Padua

The well-being of university students depends on relationships. A study conducted by Professor Sabrina Cipolletta of the Department of General Psychology at the University of Padua explored the effectiveness and usefulness of interventions aimed at reducing social isolation and loneliness among international university students. The main intervention methods analyzed were blended (in-person groups and online self-help materials), peer-to-peer and online self-help. The results show that group interventions promote psychosocial well-being through the construction of shared meanings and meaningful relationships, crucial elements for reducing loneliness.
